The simple way to create your own holiday wreath using only five items in five easy steps

Making a holiday or seasonal wreath

Wreaths are a very creative way to decorate for any holiday or season. In this article you will discover how to make your very own wreath using only five items and in five easy steps

The cost of your materials for making your wreath can be as low as $7–$10 dollars. We will begin by listing the materials that we will need for our wreath making craft.

Materials needed for designing a simple holiday or seasonal wreath

  1. A wreath ring (usually made out of wire or Vine)
  2. Tinsel or garland
  3. Wide Ribbon for wrapping
  4. Add on or ornaments or decorations such as flowers, beads, vine, bows, maybe even lights
  5. Hot glue and hot glue gun

Where to purchase items for crafting a wreath

There are a wide variety of stores that you can shop at when purchasing items for making your own wreath. My personal favorite is the dollar tree or dollar general. Other stores such as hobby lobby or Walmart may carry a larger variety in the crafts section.

Assembling a holiday wreath in five easy steps

Now it’s time to bring out or creative side and begin crafting our wreath. First you will need to set up in a large area so that you have plenty of space to lay out your materials and move around. After you are satisfied with your work area lay out all your items so that you can see them.

Let’s get started

  1. Plug in your hot glue gun to start warming
  2. Select which ribbon you purchased for your holiday wreath and tie the end of it onto the inner circle of your wreath ring. After you have secured your ribbon you can begin to wrap it around your wreath from the inner circle to the outer circle of the wreath ring. Make sure not to wrap to tightly. You are only trying to COVER your wreath ring. When completely covered cut and tie the other end of your ribbon to the inner circle of the ring making sure it’s not visible.
  3. Next choose the tinsel or garland of your liking for your wreath. We are going to do the same thing as we done with our ribbon. Tie or glue your tinsel or garland to the inner circle of your wreath. Going right over the top of our ribbon we are going to wrap the wreath until covered leaving a little space in between so that the ribbon is still visible. The main thing with wrapping your wreath is so that it looks full and doesn’t have bare spots.
  4. Now it’s time to show your creativity. Pick out whichever decorations you purchased to add on your wreath and lay them to the side. Laying your wreath on a flat surface begin to imagine what your wreath looks like and place the decorations where they need to go on your wreath. When you are satisfied with how your wreath looks and the placement of everything you can then begin to glue them on.
  5. The very last step is to find a place to hang your wreath. Hang your wreath somewhere where it can be enjoyed by others. You have now created your very own holiday or seasonal wreath using only five items in five easy steps. Hang and enjoy!
